What a very interesting podcast today on medication, as a direct result I plan to abstain from eating & drinking for half an hour each side of my medication, take Vitamin C daily and write a summary of all the different drugs that I have been prescribed since diagnosis 5 years ago, the reason why it was changed and whether it is a synthetic Dopamine or an agonist, I need to take control as Gillian alluded as we are the real experts of our condition.

Fascinating pod this week. Most interested in the neurologist talking about taking tabs on empty stomach and not eating for half an hour to help absorption. Also vitamin c to do similar. So much that is not said.

Excellent podcast. The individualized nature of Parkinson's cannot be overemphasized. Over the last 18 years since my diagnosis at age 39, my course of treatment has been very different than if I had been much older. One size does not fit all.

Regarding the pharmacist's statement that the efficacy of generic Sinemet varies by manufacturer, her statement has been true in my experience. Out of frustration at the lack of absorption of different generic sinemet tablets offered by a "big box" pharmacy, I created a spreadsheet comparing the different additives in generic sinemet by manufacturer. I then found a local pharmacy that carried the generic that originally worked for me.

Glad to see we are not the only ones battling the myriad of PD Drugs, but I really do feel for those that are. Himself is taking 29 tabs per day, along with Alexa yelling at us 8 times daily from 7am to take the drugs now, in fact, if it wasn't for her help we would be in a right pickle.

Cannot fault the Parkinson's medical team here, they are brilliant, and on call daily if required, but oh my - The Meds give The Dreads. "Take with food, Take an hour before food, Take an hour after food, Don't mix this one with that one, Drink plenty with this one". I have had to make my own spread sheet to ensure I have it all right for him, and spend a whole morning making up the doses for 28 days - and then, yep, something needs altering.

Do love the podcasts btw, hugely informative and helpful, along with some ironic chuckles, thank you.
