What you’ve written about MS and cannabis is incorrect: Sativex is CBD and THC, it is all of the active ingredients.
In trials the only measurable benefit of cannabis was when it was used for spasticity related to MS, so for eligibility I had to have a try for a week to see if it helped. It did, I had many fewer painful spasms in my legs meaning I could sleep. It also helped when in my wheelchair as the legs were more supple.
If I had experienced other benefits as well then that was a bonus, but if it was those benefits without helping spasticity it wouldn’t be prescribed. Not everyone has a response either, so it’s important to try first.
Wales approved it for use first so I managed to get it fairly early but it was helped after a trip to California where I tried some edibles and they made a noticeable difference. It seemed to count as a pre-try-it validation.
It makes a big difference for me in pain management too. My knees twist because of the spasms in my thighs and sometimes they are agony but the pain clears within about 30 seconds after a spray. I wouldn’t be without it.
