Anyone who listens to the Movers and Shakers podcast will know that Paul Mayhew-Archer is a very funny man who can find humour in every aspect of living with Parkinson’s. Paul has been a comedy scriptwriter for more than 40 years (Vicar Of Dibley is just one of this credits) but hadn’t performed live since his university days - until his diagnosis gave him a rich new vein of material.
He now takes his one-man show Incurable Optimist on tour around the UK, raising money for local Parkinson’s groups. He has just released some new tour dates and I would urge you to snap up a ticket fast if Paul is coming to your area. After all, they say laughter is the best medicine and, even if it hasn’t yet been through a phase three double blind randomised placebo-controlled trial, it is surely worth giving it a go.

Hi there, I’ve just heard on the latest M&S that Paul M-H is on tour again. Sadly I can’t for see where and his website is not showing anything. Do you happen to know where he’s playing? Love the show, cheers, Jeremy Maltby m@ltby.net
Too bad you can’t record a few of his jokes for us on the other side of the pond.
