In London’s historic Middle Temple Hall, where Twelfth Night was first performed, another extraordinary drama will be staged tonight. Yes, it is really happening - the first live edition of Movers and Shakers, the hit podcast about living with Parkinson’s.
When “Judge” (now retired) Nick Mostyn first suggested we do a live show the other members of our anarchic collective - Paul Mayhew-Archer, Gillian Lacey-Solymar, Mark Mardell, Jeremy Paxman and me - told him he was bonkers. Mind you, we said the same thing about his original idea for a podcast. But that worked - once we had done a few practical things like hiring a brilliant producer Nick Hilton - and, fingers crossed, I think this is going to fly too.
I set up the ticketing site and, hey presto, we sold out within a day, so there is obviously a demand for a bit of a laugh and a bit of a moan about Parkinson’s, our formula when we record in the pub. The script for tonight is still being wriiten and rewritten on a shared document, questions of content and structure are being argued back and forth - it could be a triumph or a shambles.
And if you want to see how it goes it is being livestreamed from 7.45pm - just click here.
Missed it...is there any chance you recorded it to be streamed at a later date? Thanks 🙏🏻
Great that it’s live streamed , we got tickets to attend the event BUT living on the Isle of Wight we discovered there’s no late night ferry home .
