Why subscribe?

This is a newsletter about two passions of mine - technology and health. I spent 15 years as BBC Technology Correspondent in a period where the smartphone and social media changed just about everything - but had surprisingly little impact on healthcare. As someone with two serious long-term conditions, a malignant ocular melanoma and Parkinson’s Disease I found that disappointing.

But now the pandemic has accelerated the digital transformation of healthcare, with new ideas emerging thick and fast - everything from the remote monitoring of patients via smartwatches to the use of AI to triage millions of scans.

The Always On newsletter will try to keep track of the stories, the people and the issues from the healthtech sector. If you have ideas for what might make an interesting post please contact me - the easiest way is probably a DM to my Twitter account @ruskin147.

And subscribe now to get full access to the newsletter and website. Never miss an update.
